Irish Handmade Wooden Watch
The Wych Elm is the only elm tree native to Ireland, known for its wide range and strong connection to the Irish landscape. It is typically found in mountainous regions, thriving in moist soils and higher humidity. In Irish, its name reflects this habitat—“sléibhe,” meaning mountain, giving the tree its traditional name, the Mountain Elm.
The elm used in this watch comes from the area of Abbeyknockmoy in County Galway. This historic village is home to Abbeyknockmoy Abbey, a Cistercian monastery founded in 1190 by the King of Connacht. The region is rich in heritage, blending natural beauty with centuries of Irish history.
Crafted from this distinctive Irish wood, each watch carries a small piece of Galway’s landscape and story—making every piece both unique and meaningful.
