The Oak tree is a symbol of strength, morale, resistance and knowledge. The Celtic Irish took this as a clear sign that the oak was to be honoured for its endurance, and noble presence. In fact, wearing oak leaves was a sign of special status among the Celtic Irish.
This Irish Oak Known as king of the forest for its strength and longevity, the oak is most sacred to the Druids and the word Druid comes from the Celtic word for oak ‘Duir’.
This Oak comes from Co Galway or (Contae Na Gaillimhe) its Irish name complex history going back around 800 years. The city was the only medieval city in the province of Connacht.
